Othello Session (Working Title)

Casting actors of all ages over 21 of age that are singers and/or musicians of rock. $500 stipend for 8 to 9 performers

Synopsis
A group of musicians are rehearsing love songs in a garage when the rehearsal turns strange as we witness a modern adaption of Othello - the lead singer accuses his wife the lead guitarist of having an affair with the drummer all brought on by Iago the bass player. Musically odd, whimsical,, dramatic and tragic.

This original production is created in two parts.

Part A. Songwriting, music rehearsals, script Development. (4 to 6 weeks) To take place sometime between now and May. May/June 2019. To be determined by cast. Musicians must provide their own instruments.

Part B. Rehearsal and Performance (8 weeks) May/June 2019.

This is a stipend paid show.

TIMING and PROCESS
Part A. The cast will rehearse and write 4 to 5 songs during a 4 to 6 week period. In a 4 to 6 week period somewhere between Now and May.

Part B. May Rehearsals with show runs for first three weeks in June.

To be considered send head shot and resume and what music skill you have. Tell me how long you have been practicing this skill. You may submit reels or sample audio tracks, site links, etc - particularly if you are a song writer. The genre is rock. Keep in mind this is a stipend paid production, if compensation is important to you ask about the stipend amount. The show will open in a theatre then it will move to play different bars in Portland as a music-theatre piece .

Must be available evenings and one AM weekends for rehearsals.
